Who Can Apply?

Chevening is open to applicants from over 160 eligible countries, including Pakistan, India, Nigeria, Kenya, Indonesia, and many more.

Here’s what you need to be eligible:

1. Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country.
2. Have an undergraduate degree (equivalent to a UK 2:1).
3. Have at least 2 years (2,800 hours) of work experience (this can be full-time, part-time, internships, or volunteer work).
4. Apply to 3 eligible UK Master’s programs, and get at least one unconditional offer by July 2026.
5. Commit to returning to your home country for at least 2 years after your studies.
6. Have strong English communication skills (no specific IELTS requirement by Chevening, but your chosen university may need it).

Not eligible if you:

Hold dual British citizenship
Are currently working for the UK Government
Previously received a UK Government-funded scholarship

How to Apply – Step-by-Step Guide

1. Visit the official Chevening website

2. Select your country, and click “Apply for Scholarship” once applications open on 5 August 2025.

3. Register your account and start filling out your application.

4. Choose 3 UK Master’s courses on the official list. Make sure:

They’re full-time
They start in Fall 2026
They’re not MBA or distance learning programs

5. Write and upload your essays.

6. Submit your application before 7 October 2025, 12:00 (UK time).

Once submitted, you can’t make any changes, so double-check everything!
